THE GHOST INSIDE: Intervju med Jonathan Vigil

Hardcorepunkarna The Ghost Inside från Los Angeles, är ute på vägarna tillsammans med Asking Alexandria och gästade nyligen Sverige. I mitten av november landar deras nya album “Dear youth”  på skivdiskarna och Rocksverige fick sig ett kortare snack med sångaren Jonathan Vigil, som bl a berättade att det kommande albumet givetvis är deras bästa:

“I think this is going to be our best record yet as far as the songs and how it’s going to be live.”

 

You have a new album coming out next month, how do you feel about it?

Jonathan Vigil- It’s really exciting, it is always fun to put out new stuff and I think this is going to be our best record yet as far as the songs and how it’s going to be live.

What separated this recording process from the earlier ones?

JV- This one was a little different in the fact that we toured a lot more and we didn’t have like a block to do the record, we did it piece by piece.

So there was a lot of demoing while touring?

JV- Yeah, we did songs and then we went on tour, did more songs and went on tour and we were going on like that. On our last album we did it all at once.

You have already released a video for the title track, how was the response to that one?

JV- It was good! It was a fun video with all the fans involved and stuff and it was kind of a spin off from a lyric video, but not using the actual lyrics.

Why did you record a video for that specific song, was it because it actually was the title track?

JV- That was going to be the next song that we would release and instead of just releasing it, we wanted to do something cool.

And right now you are on tour with Asking Alexandria, how´s the tour been going so far?

JV- It has been good, man. We have played a few European shows and then we played Stockholm last night and Gothenburg tonight.

You have played in Gothenburg a few times the last couple of years, how do the shows differ from each other?

JV- Every time we have played here it has been really fun. The kids seem excited to be at our shows and there are a lot of sing alongs, so it’s a good vibe here. I like that. I like the city and walking around and stuff, the central square is great.

Are all of the tours the same or do you try to break the everyday basics?

JV- When you are on tour, you get kind of used to the normal stuff but today we knew that there was a Starbucks nearby so we went to Starbucks. We have to entertain ourselves all day since we get here like 10am.

Last question, what will be the next big thing for The Ghost Inside?

JV- I guess it’s just touring more and more and just see more of the world. I´d like to go to the most places we could go and I hope that this record is going to bring us to some new places.
